A message from the head of school, Jodi Grass
Extending the invitation to attend the 50th

Recently, I wrote to our current parenting adults to remind them that this campus does not exist solely for our students; it is here for them, too.

Today, I offer that same reminder to you.

When was the last time you took a walk in the Lost Meadow or up to the Saddle? How about balancing on the boulders along pathways throughout campus as the children do? Have you taken the time to enjoy a cup of tea or coffee sitting in one of the many rocking chairs throughout campus?

Whether you have walked these paths recently or not for many years, we hope you will join us for our 50th Anniversary Weekend on May 16–17.

There will be space to reconnect with the land, with one another, and perhaps with something quieter within yourself. Join a meditation, sit in a Krishnamurti discussion, step into the Saturday pick-up soccer game, or simply take a cup of tea from Main House and find a moment beneath the trees.

I look forward to gathering with those who have shaped Oak Grove School over the decades and with those who continue to walk this campus each day.

Soon!

An Evening of Reflection, Food, and Games

India Night

Oak Grove School is one of many schools founded by J. Krishnamurti, and it is the most recently established, currently celebrating its 50th anniversary. In comparison, Rishi Valley School in India was founded nearly a century ago. Mark Lee, its first Head of School, was Head of the middle school and taught at Rishi Valley, while his wife Asha, a doctor, provided healthcare and opened a rural health clinic there. There is not only a historical and philosophical bond, but a distinct emotional connection felt by all who visit the various Krishnamurti schools throughout India and in England.

Student Fundraiser and Giving

Day of Reading

On Friday, February 13, Oak Grove hosted its beloved Day of Reading, where students, teachers, and staff arrived in their coziest pajamas to celebrate the love of reading together. Everyone brought their favorite stuffy and a book for a day filled with fun and imagination. Thank you to everyone for supporting this year’s Day of Reading!

Middle School Outdoor Education

Teton Science School

Grand Teton National Park is one of our nation’s most iconic parks, characterized by its dramatic mountain range, pristine alpine lakes, sweeping valleys, dense forests, and wild rivers. Visiting the Teton Science Schools provides a unique experience for our middle school learners as they explore the wonders of this amazing park through focused scientific observation and a place-based curriculum.

Cooperation

"What does it mean to cooperate – not the word but the spirit of it? You cannot cooperate with another, with the earth and its waters, unless you in yourself are harmonious, not broken up, not contradictory."
