2020 was my first year at Oak Grove.

Why do you work at Oak Grove?

It’s undeniable that Oak Grove, with its beautiful outdoor spaces for children to explore and create, would be a wonderful setting in which to work. My even greater desire, though, is to be part of a nurturing environment for children and teachers alike where authentic, meaningful learning takes place.

What makes an Oak Grove education unique?

In preschool, teachers work together to gently guide the development of the “whole child” through an emergent curriculum. We foster creativity, thinking and problem-solving skills, questions, experimentation, and open-ended play.

What outdoor experience has been most impactful for you?

Anytime I visit Joshua Tree.

The best live music performance/concert you ever attended is …

Seeing Depeche Mode play at the Troubadour was surreal.

Which teacher in your life affected you greatly? How?

My third grade teacher Mrs. Bradley had the same essence as Mr Rogers. She was gentle, kind, compassionate, inspiring, and had such a fun way of telling stories! She would sing to us in German and always encouraged me to ask questions about the world. Mrs. Bradley introduced me to some of my favorite children’s authors, like Mem Fox, Pamela Lofts, and Roald Dahl. Thank you for being a true inspiration, Mrs. Bradley.
