Since 2007.

Why do you work at Oak Grove?

I believe in the school’s mission of educating the whole child.

A quote that inspires your approach to your job.

“Space and time are not conditions in which we live, they are modes in which we think.” – Albert Einstein

Where is your special spot on campus?

Under the trees in the lower elementary playground, especially at the end of the day, when all the animals start to emerge fearlessly.

Coffee or Tea?

Both.

What makes an Oak Grove education unique?

Oak Grove’s care to connect students to nature, themselves, and the community of grown-ups and fellow students.

How do we prepare students for their life ahead?

We expect them to think and teach them to take the perspective of others.

What outdoor experience has been most impactful for you?

While I love to camp, hike, walk in nature, most impactful for me has been to spend day after day in the outdoor environment of the Oak Grove campus.

The best live music performance/concert you ever attended is …

Eric Clapton in Germany.

Which teacher in your life affected you greatly? How?

My Buddhist teacher, who taught me to realize that the world is bigger than we perceive with our conditioned mind, that direct experience is always possible on the spot, and kindness to all beings is the basis to realize our human potential.
