From the Head of School
Immense
It was quiet and cold early this morning on campus, well before most people started to arrive. Our dedicated music teachers were here setting up for the winter assembly, as it takes a solid three hours to set up before a concert. Nearby, there was a family of bobcats watching as they worked. The only other sign of humans, besides myself, was the kitchen lights casting a glow in the dimness. The anticipation of a festive final day of school before a long break was palpable.
It is in these slow moments on campus that I can feel the deepest level of gratitude for this place and for all those people who make it possible for children, now and over the past four decades, to learn and grow here.
By 7:45 the campus was alive with activity. Cars, bicyclists, feet streaming up the driveway; students dropping off cards and gifts to beloved adults; parents sharing sweet moments of connection and smiles; staff embracing one another with well wishes. Our students performed on stage and sold their wares at the Winter Market, raising funds for clubs and charities.
Now, as it is Winter Break, the campus is empty of human activity, and the love and gratitude I feel for this place, for our students, for you, is immense. Thank you for being a part of this thriving community.

The senior class at Oak Grove has been visiting our sister schools in India for decades. However, in the previous two years, we could not send our seniors due to the pandemic; instead, they experienced the marvels and challenges of Hawaii.
This month, eleven seniors and four chaperones will again depart on this capstone India trip. Interacting with the greater Krishnamurti community, immersing themselves in a different culture, and making new friends at their sister schools are three of the intentions of Oak Grove’s annual senior trip to India. Bon Voyage!

The World Cup in Ojai
As football fervor grew in intensity during the World Cup, the elementary students participated in an Oak Grove "World Cup." Students were assigned to teams from countries worldwide and played 20-minute games. Some took the role of referees, linespeople, or coaches. Their enthusiasm was palpable.

Thought is always stale, the past, the old; thought can never be new. As you have seen, love is not thought. Love is when the thinker is not. The thinker is not an entity different from thought; thought and the thinker are one. The thinker is the thought.
