From the Head of School
The sounds of children have faded from campus, but summer has its own unique voice around here. Amidst the melodic sounds of birds, goats, and sheep, one can hear the rhythmic hammer and buzz of power tools, the vibrating murmur of large diesel trucks moving up and down the driveway, and the slow click of the flip-flops worn by administrators arriving on campus a bit later than usual. Around here, summer is the deep breath between the completion of one school year and the preparations for the one ahead.

We hope you are able to breathe into your own summer tempo, enjoying the longer days, late mornings, do-nothing time.

What is the Pavilion?
In 1975, the Pavilion was the first structure built on the school's campus. It was in effect, the school. Krishnamurti instructed the architects of the building to "make it a place of quiet dignity, a sacred place."
|
Forty-six years later, the Pavilion is due for some much-needed restoration. Pictured below is the new copper roof being installed, with the same careful attention to craftsmanship as the original roof was given. Over time, the metal plates will oxidize to form a beautiful patina finish. The project will be completed this summer.

Understanding Krishnamurti
An Inquiry into the Nature of Thought
Krishnamurti’s teachings are extremely comprehensive, and they challenge us to examine the whole of life. In a somewhat similar manner, can we examine the teachings themselves as a whole, as a totality? We will explore this question by looking at five “dimensions” of the man and his message: the psychological teachings, the religious teachings, the nature teachings, the personal dimension, and the public dimension.
