High School Students & Teachers

Leadership Conferences

Representatives from our high school recently traveled to St. Louis, Missouri, to attend this year’s Student Diversity Leadership and People of Color Conferences.

Organized by the National Association of Independent Schools, the two coinciding events, which are designed for students and educators respectively, are committed to equity and justice in teaching and learning, and explore the diverse experiences of people of color in independent schools. Our high school representatives attended the conferences to gain insight and help educate and inform our students at Oak Grove on issues surrounding diversity, equity, and inclusion.

K Quote

“When the mind goes beyond the thought of the ‘me’, the experiencer, the observer, the thinker, then there is a possibility of a happiness that is incorruptible. That happiness cannot be permanent, in the sense in which we use that word. But, our mind is seeking permanent happiness, something that will last, that will continue. That very desire for continuity is corruption."
