2021 was my first year teaching at Oak Grove.

Why do you work at Oak Grove?

I have always loved the idea of being able to work with students in an outdoor, nature based environment. Oak Grove School provides this environment and so much more. I admire their strong sense of community and the way that everyone is encouraged to grow.

What outdoor experience has been most impactful for you?

I’ve been so lucky to have so many amazing outdoor experiences in my life, but the most impactful has to be rock climbing and hiking at Pine Mountain above Ojai.

Which teacher in your life affected you greatly? How?

My mother has been teaching for over 20 years and her dedication and passion for her career in outdoor learning has inspired my own teaching philosophy.

Name something that nobody knows about you.

At 18, I moved across the country to live in Virginia for a year after high school. It gave me a love for sweet tea and the term “y’all”.
