How many years have you worked at Oak Grove?
Since 2015.
Why do you work at Oak Grove?
I love working with young children and their families, and I appreciate the unique support and experience that I feel families and students receive from Oak Grove School. At Oak Grove I feel the whole staff and administration work together to support each student as a whole person.
A quote that inspires your approach to your job.
“Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning. But for children play is serious learning. Play is really the work of childhood.” -Fred Rogers
Where is your special spot on campus?
I really love the walk from ECP to the Pavilion. It feels so magical going across the meadow from one shady glen to another.
Coffee or Tea?
Both!
Name a place you’ve always wanted to visit, but haven’t yet.
When I was really young I always thought that I would be living in India studying tigers when I grew up, but now as an adult I have still never been to India.
What is your most bizarre OGS experience?
My most bizarre OGS experience was walking across campus with a student while having Lucky, the hawk that lives on campus, sitting very close to us in a tree watching us go by. I pointed Lucky out to the student, who seemed pleased to see Lucky, but also nonchalantly explained, “Oh, yeah, that’s Lucky. I see him all the time.” I was thinking the whole time, this is so strange, and so cool!
