Middle & High School Honor Bands Spring Concert

In both Middle and High School, students with prior musical experience have the opportunity to participate in the Honor Band. Under the guidance and expertise of music teacher Eric Sullivan, the Honor Band convenes after school, twice weekly, to rehearse and perform musical selections. The Honor Band performs four times a year during various campus events and one off-campus venue in the spring. Collaborating on a diverse repertoire of songs, the Honor Band provides students with an enriching musical experience, allowing them to explore different instruments and foster camaraderie among peers.

For the second consecutive year, the Honor Bands have performed their annual Spring Concert at The Ojai Underground, a renowned performing arts venue in Ojai that showcases a lineup of exceptional performances throughout the year. The room was jam-packed with enthusiastic parents, peers, and staff.

This year, the Middle School Honor Band, comprising ten musicians, organized into two distinct groups, The Not-So-Quiet Coyotes and Iain The GOAT By Kyle. The musicians showcased a repertoire of rock classics, including works by Aerosmith, Pink Floyd, and The Beatles. Drawing upon their experience as both musicians and actors, the High School Honor Band, who took on the name The Oak Grooves, performed theatrical renditions of contemporary songs and classics, featuring songs from The Cardigans, The Police. For the grand finale,  they captivated the audience with their rendition of “The Age of Aquarius” by The Fifth Dimension.

For their final performance, the Honor Bands will kick off the summer by taking to the stage during our final school assembly in June.
