Breath, Reflection, & Inner Discovery
A Unique Journey for 6th Graders
Over the past three years, our 6th grade students have embarked on a truly unique and meaningful journey, one that goes beyond the traditional classroom and into the inner landscape of self-awareness and emotional growth.
Through a series of Pneuma Breathwork sessions, students are introduced to practices that blend ancient philosophical wisdom with the modern science of mindfulness. These sessions invite calm, introspection, and presence – rare and powerful gifts in today’s fast-paced world. Each experience includes guided breathwork accompanied by specially composed music, designed to support a deeply contemplative state.
Following the breathwork, students engage in a reflective integration process: drawing mandalas to capture their inner impressions and then coming together in a sharing circle. These quiet, expressive moments allow for both personal insight and collective connection.
This thoughtful combination of breathwork, reflection, and creative expression is much more than an exercise in relaxation – it is a foundation for self-knowledge, emotional well-being, and inner peace. The skills students gain in these sessions are ones they can carry with them far beyond the 6th grade, offering tools for resilience, empathy, and clarity throughout their lives.
