How many years have you worked at Oak Grove?

2021 was my first year at Oak Grove.

Why do you work at Oak Grove?

It’s a great community with a beautiful vision. It’s a privilege to be here!

Where is your special spot on campus?

The Lost Meadow

Coffee or Tea?

Coffee, but no more than 2 or 3

What outdoor experience has been most impactful for you?

Any trip to Yosemite. Hiking near the White Wolf campground, in particular, was as close as I’ve ever felt to the wilderness.

The best live music performance/concert you ever attended is …

The Irish Folk Music session, every Sunday at the Starry Plough in Berkeley.

Which teacher in your life affected you greatly? How?

Robert Langhorn, my studio teacher for the last semester of design school. He provided a bit of encouragement, and accountability, and a lot of space to explore our own ideas. The result was my best student work.

Name something that nobody knows about you.

I can identify most (though definitely not all) fonts on sight.

Person (dead or alive, famous or not) that you’d most like to share a meal with.

Robert Bringhurst, or any of the old mythtellers he’s written about.

Name a place you’ve always wanted to visit, but haven’t yet.

Haida Gwaii. By all accounts, these islands, several miles off the stormy coast of northern British Columbia, are an enchanted, temperate rain forest with an equally inspiring First Nations presence and history.
