Represent Oak Grove in First-ever High School Swim Meet
Oak Grove School seniors Danielle and Dahlia made waves in Ojai’s local newspaper last week after representing the Lizards in their first-ever high school swim meet at Villanova Preparatory School in Ojai.
While Oak Grove does not have an official swim team, both students have trained for years with the Ojai Heatwaves Swim Club. This season for the first time, they have been offered the opportunity to participate in sanctioned high school competitions wearing an OGS swim cap.
Danielle and Dahlia performed exceptionally well in their debut meet on February 28th, earning recognition in the Ojai Valley News. While Danielle secured first place in both the Girls Varsity 100-yard Butterfly (1:04.21) and the 100-yard Breaststroke (1:14.38), Dahlia earned second place in the Girls Varsity 500-yard Freestyle (5:27.16) and the 100-yard Backstroke (1:04.56).
Both seniors will compete in three more meets this season, continuing to represent Oak Grove including at the Ventura County Championships this week.
