For our first Lizard Talks series of the year, we welcomed Geetha Waters. Geetha, parent of Oak Grove School alum Jayson Waters ’10, is an educator and writer, who facilitates programs at the Krishnamurti Study Centre in Summer Hill, Australia.

Today was our first day of school! There were hops and skips, and hugs and high-fives all around as we said hello to our returning students and welcomed our new incoming students.

Congratulations to our Second Grade Teacher Karen and Science Enrichment Teacher Eric, whose Roxaboxen student project won an IMPACT II award.

Oak Grove School celebrated its 12 graduating seniors last week. During their commencement ceremony, which took place in the beloved oak-bordered Pavilion on the Oak Grove campus on June 9th, students, teachers, parents and the wider community gathered to commemorate the class of 2023.

Enjoy this short story about Lucky, Oak Grove’s resident hawk, along with a song performed by preschool and high school students together.

Our student newspaper The Oak Grove Inquirer is one of many outlets students have for sharing their passions, expressing their artistic visions, and guiding community conversations.

Digital Media class offers students many ways to explore the power of image making, storytelling, and conveying messages through digital art, digital photography, and video.

We are always learning. Not only is implicit learning offered from minute to minute in our interactions with our students, with parents, and with colleagues, but we also have ample time throughout the year for explicit learning as a community of educators.

Enjoy video and photos from this year’s High School Spring Showcase highlighting student work in studio arts, ceramics, woodworking, & music.

Alumni Genevieve Sky Waltcher reflects in her brief bio: “Oak Grove was more than a school; it was a family and a sanctuary to learn to be.”
